Appeal evidence for a late appeal

The evidence you need will depend on what happened. Send any of the following that support your appeal:

  • evidence that you were away from home

  • travel bookings or tickets

  • evidence of a hospital stay or serious illness

  • evidence that correspondence was sent to the wrong address

  • evidence of postal problems

  • a DVLA acknowledgement showing when your address was updated

Make sure the evidence shows

  • the relevant dates

  • the address used for the notice

  • when you first became aware of it

  • why you could not respond sooner

  • what action you took once you became aware of it

What to tell us in your own words

  • when you first received or became aware of the notice

  • why you could not respond earlier

  • your address at the date of the parking event

  • your current address

  • any steps taken to update your address or resolve delivery problems

  • if you do not have supporting evidence, tell us why

  • anything else you want us to consider

Do you have another reason for appealing?

Check the evidence guidance for every reason you want us to consider.

Ready to submit?

Include every reason and all the relevant supporting evidence when you submit your appeal. The more relevant evidence you provide, the easier it is for us to understand your appeal.

Evidence sent later may not be considered.
