Complaints

If you want to challenge a parking charge or penalty, you must use the appeal or representation process shown on your notice, letter or most recent correspondence.

A complaint is different. A complaint is about the quality of our service, how something was handled, or the behaviour of a person acting on our behalf.

Making a complaint does not give you a separate route to cancel or overturn a parking charge or penalty. If you want the parking charge or penalty cancelled, you must use the appeal or representation process.

Appeal a Parking Charge

Use this route if you believe a parking charge or penalty should not have been issued, or you want it cancelled.

This includes issues such as payment, Blue Badge evidence, permit problems, vehicle registration errors, wrong location code or evidence that the parking terms were not breached.

If your appeal or representations are rejected, you may be able to take the matter to an independent appeal body, such as POPLA or the Northern Ireland Traffic Penalty Tribunal. This route is only available through the appeal or representation process, not through the complaints process.

Make a complaint

Use this route if you are unhappy with our service, conduct, delay, process, facilities, equipment, or the way your enquiry was handled.

Even if a complaint is upheld, it does not automatically cancel a parking charge or penalty. To challenge the parking charge or penalty itself, you must use the appeal or representation process.
