Appeal evidence about ownership, hire or use of the vehicle
The evidence you need will depend on what happened. Send any of the following that support your appeal:
a vehicle sale or purchase document
a DVLA acknowledgement or registration document
a hire or lease agreement
a company vehicle allocation record
a police crime reference for a stolen vehicle or cloned registration plate
evidence identifying the person who was using the vehicle
Make sure the evidence shows
the vehicle registration
the relevant person or organisation’s name and address
the date ownership, possession or use began and ended
the date and time covered by any hire or lease
signatures or other confirmation that the agreement was in force
What to tell us in your own words
your relationship to the vehicle
who owned, hired, leased or used it at the time
the full name and serviceable address of the relevant person or organisation, where applicable
why the sale, hire, lease or police document is not available
if you do not have supporting evidence, tell us why
anything else you want us to consider
