Appeal evidence for an emergency, illness or vehicle breakdown

The evidence you need will depend on what happened. Send any of the following that support your appeal:

  • a breakdown or recovery report

  • a repair invoice or garage report

  • photographs of the vehicle or fault

  • evidence of an emergency call or attendance

  • evidence confirming a medical appointment, treatment or emergency

  • evidence relating to a bereavement or serious personal circumstance

  • a written statement from someone who witnessed what happened

Make sure the evidence shows

  • the date and approximate time

  • the location

  • the vehicle registration

  • what happened

  • why the vehicle could not be moved or why the parking time was affected

  • how long the incident lasted

What to tell us in your own words

  • exactly what happened

  • when and where it happened

  • how long it lasted

  • the name and contact details of any recovery firm, garage, emergency service or other organisation involved

  • if you do not have supporting evidence, tell us why

  • anything else you want us to consider
